Music has the power to build confidence, encourage creativity and bring people together. Through its support of Primary Robins, the Kamini and Vindi Banga Family Trust is helping to make these opportunities accessible to children across the UK.
During the 2025–2026 academic year, Primary Robins provided 7,160 children with free weekly singing lessons, delivered by 22 dedicated teachers across the country. From traditional folk songs to musical theatre and The Beatles, the programme introduces children to a rich variety of music while developing their confidence, communication skills and sense of belonging.
The programme has also expanded its work with children with additional learning needs, introducing sessions at West Hill School in Surrey, with further expansion planned for September 2026. Alongside weekly lessons, orchestral workshops delivered by the Berkeley Ensemble have given children the opportunity to discover new instruments, composers and musical traditions.
The year culminated in two celebratory concerts, bringing together more than 220 young singers in Surrey and Lewisham. Performing for families and accompanied by professional musicians, the children demonstrated not only their musical progress but also the confidence and joy that come from making music together.
The Trust is proud to support Primary Robins and its commitment to ensuring that every child, regardless of background or circumstance, has the opportunity to discover the transformative power of music.
