Students’ Create Festival

In January, students at the Royal Academy of Music took centre stage for the annual Students Create Festival, a celebration of original work conceived, produced and performed entirely by Academy students.

Unlike traditional conservatoire performances, Students Create gives young musicians the freedom to step beyond the curriculum. Students are encouraged to devise ambitious new projects, collaborate across genres, manage budgets, curate performances and bring their own artistic ideas to life. It is a rare opportunity to develop not only as performers, but as creative leaders.

The Banga Family Trust is proud to have supported this year’s festival, helping ensure that these opportunities remain available to the next generation of artists.

Creativity flourishes when talented people are given the confidence, resources and freedom to experiment. Festivals such as Students Create allow emerging musicians to take risks, explore new forms of expression and discover their own artistic voice in front of live audiences.

Supporting organisations that nurture young talent has long been an important part of the Trust’s work. We believe that investing in creativity today enriches the cultural landscape for generations to come, and we congratulate all of the students, mentors and Academy staff whose imagination and dedication made this year’s festival such a success.
